Description: As a little initiative to let our builders of the community get some recognition in the Imperial community, it's been decided that a Halloween building competition going to be hosted. Participants are to build a spooky/disturbing/Halloween driven set within Garry's Mod using anything you can find on the workshop. The building itself is to be done on singleplayer, and a single screenshot or short video must be provided to showcase your build. Submissions are to be posted within this thread, and voting will be made through community opinion via the +1 react on the forum posts below this announcement. ALL OTHER REACTION RESPONSES WILL BE DISMISSED/IGNORED. Prizes: FIRST PLACE: 100,000 credits SECOND PLACE: 50,000 credits THIRD PLACE: 25,000 credits Criteria: Must be Star Wars themed, and set in the Imperial era. Everything from both Legends and Canon is valid for building the scene. (Example being the Blackwing virus) Must be limited to one image or video showcasing the best angle of your creation to keep things streamlined. Working together on a build is permitted, however if the scene gains a prize, the prize reward will be split between the participants involved, and will not have full credit amount given to each. Non-Star Wars halloween props are permitted providing it's with the intent of capturing the spirit of halloween and not to overshadow the Star Wars theme. This has left a void that IHC wish to fill. This EOI will be both an opportunity for the role of Medical Officer Commander or 16th Medical Divison Commander. The role of Medical Officer is primarily administrative rather than combat focused, with a kit that may be less appealing for those wanting to be effective in combat. The role of a 16th Medical Division unit is primarily field medic focused, with subcompanies to compliment such, and has a larger slot count.   3. INFORMATION Imperial High Command have decided that it's time to officially announce that we're looking for someone to take up the mantle of Stormtrooper Commander. The role regarding this has gone through some changes, and we are currently looking for a suitable candidate to step into the mantle of a new players first experience on the server. I'm going to give a few criticisms to your answers in hopes that you change this application up because currently I can't see you making it into the moderator team with these scenario questions. A player comes to you, wanting to talk something out and call you up on something they felt is unfair (which if it were true, they'd be right to be angry), and your response is to add fuel to the fire? Being a moderator isn't just about warning someone and calling it a day. You're there to make sure players are enjoying their time on the server, you're there to make sure everyone is satisfied and feeling comfortable knowing there's competent moderators. As a moderator you'll be expected to defuse situations and put up with angry players from time to time, and warning them without remotely hearing them out or explaining anything to them (e.g why they were warned in the first place), isn't the best way around it. Say you warn them.... that isn't stopping them from DDoSing the server. If someone is making those threats, a simple warn on a server they're going to be leaving isn't going to stop them because if what they speak is true... the warn ain't gonna do much when the server goes down anyway. I should mention - staff have zero authority over demotions, and what do you mean by a timeout? I would probably omit the whole "if he doesnt roleplay then he can join another server." thing. Some players simply don't know what roleplay servers are, therefore usually wont show intention to RP. Try a more lenient and forgiving approach, and try detail what you'd do for if they listen or don't listen. All in all man, I don't think you're a good fit for moderator. -1 Fix up your answers with this feedback in mind and I might change my mind on ya.

  9. Probably just going to use this thread to show progress in learning Hammer Editor and embarrass myself with how shit I am with it. I did a thing. I can walk on the thing. It has a skybox thing. I goofed and the skybox is wonky and wasn't positioned correctly. Accidentally walked off the edge and broke my neck. Figured out displacement. Got stuck. So uh... tried to add an overlay to make the crater a different material. Floating trees that are all facing the same way. 10/10 map creation skills.
  10. Link, as blunt as this sounds... you need to stop giving half truths to things if you want to be taken seriously. Yes you had some shit thrown your way, and yes you have been victim of a few things and I even tried to help you through a few of 'em in trying to give you a better approach to things - but on the other side of things you're no saint yourself. You were antagonistic to players, abusive, and given multiple chances by staff - some could argue you even received special treatment and the time to actually talk things out rather than being punished the same as any other player. You cried wolf a lot, you attempted to lie to and about the Shock trooper that arrested you tonight, only to come clean when it was too late resulting in your removal from the traineeship for your Commando squad. You're a compulsive liar dude. I gave you the time of day, sitting down with you more than a few times during your course, sat down with you for a good long while during those moments and actually tried to help you - and that went in one ear and out the other. You improved for all of a few days, and then you came tumbling right back down. You've ignored my advice from what I've seen, and for that I feel no sympathy for you. We all go through tough shit, it's life. This is nothing personal when I say this, but I cannot help but be blunt with you now.

Personality: Roka is a simple stalwart silent type, with the only thing on his mind being his next kill. INQUISITOR INFORMATION Rank: Acolyte Main Combat Forms: Form 5 | Form 7 BACKSTORY Roka Vin was a dock worker on an Imperial space station, on a minimum pay not due to his work ethics but due to the nature of the job. It was a struggling business, and the boss would consistently take his frustrations out on his workers, physically and emotionally. Unbeknownst to the boss, Roka Vin was a force sensitive, and all that negativity surrounding the dockyards would fester in Roka, day after day. Roka would never vent these frustrations, so they simply built, and built within him. This went on for some time, and Roka kept silent. He bade his time, and waited, letting the negative emotions cloud him while he worked. He never resisted it, he never knew of the true capacity of his powers as a force sensitive, but he didn't care. It gave him strength, and that was all he thought of it. He would use the negative emotions, the hatred he felt for the dockyard boss, to fuel his physical strength and his determination to someday let it loose, and crush the boss between his palms. He found power in biding his anger, rather than expressing himself at every moment. Soon enough, his time came in the form of his boss telling Roka to pack his things and leave. That he was a liability. That he was useless. This was the trigger. Upon being told that he was useless, that he was not fit for the job, Roka snapped. He acted upon his emotions for the first time since he took up the job, he released all that pent up frustration, the anger that he had felt for his boss, in the form of what most know as the force. He snapped his boss' neck, ripped it clean from his head, not with his palms but with the sheer power of the force. He didn't care how this happened, all he cared about was that it happened, and it felt good. But it didn't stop there. He hated the whole dockyard. The entire workplace. All the negative emotions that bade inside him were released in the form of an incredible shockwave, sending crates flying into workers, machinery collapsing in of itself, all with Roka at the epicenter of the rage-induced chaos. Everything he focused on, everything he saw, was destroyed, crushed; his co-workers made into lifeless meatsacks. This made Roka happy. He enjoyed this power. It wasn't soon after this event that security forces moved in on the dockyard, but they were unable to restrain him. He was too far gone. Too focused on his hatred, his rage, to be stopped. It was only by the saving grace of an Inquisitor present at the scene, lured by the significance of a force sensitive, that prevented Roka from being gunned down where he stood. It wasn't through respect that he joined the Inquisition, but through the selfish thought that perhaps he could use the Inquisition to further his strength, and that's all he cares for.

Alright, I've had a lot of personal interactions with Santa lately due to the fact that he was in my Purge and now one of the ST Sergeants that's alongside Corny and I, and I can say with 100% certainty this man brings solid roleplay to whatever role he's in. He's rather lighthearted with it on some occasions which I feel is a good trait to have as it's important to simply have fun, but I've seen him when he's serious about a role (which will translate very well into an EM host for an event), and I can speak from personal experience when I say that he shows great promise. He has a habit of speaking his mind a lot which has been cause for involvement in minor conflict but I don't see that as a particularly bad thing, more so just how his personality is and thus I don't believe that potential negative outweighs what he could bring to the EM team as a whole. Would love to have him on the team.

Name/Alias: Noc / PC-1405 Previous Notable Roles on Gateway/Empire Gaming: Event Master - Commander of multiple regiments (CW/1 in IMP) - Squad lead of multiple RC squads (CW) Highest Rank Achieved: Battalion Commander (CW) GG Server Playtime: 90 hours What can you bring to the role?: I believe that I can bring a welcoming environment for newcomers, transparent communication with all existing Commanders as I make it point for my stay on GatewayGaming to ensure that no bad blood is ever felt between myself and others, and my experience as Commander of other regiments throughout my stay on GatewayRP servers to my advantage. I'm passionate as a Commander in ensuring that everyone beneath me knows what to do and that will involve newcomers - as I will make sure they aren't left in the dark in terms of how to participate in the server as a whole. I'm in full support of the current initiative that IHC are pushing concerning the ST CO position, and as such I believe that if I receive the role there'll be no issues with ensuring that IHC's wishes come to fruition. I believe that I can bring all this to the table, and hold an adaptable attitude for future things to come. Why should we pick you over other applicants?: I've experienced multiple regiments during my time as a player and staff member of GatewayGaming, and I feel that my experience coupled with my attitude towards Commanding positions puts me at a good spot to have a true shot at receiving the ST CO position. I'm very capable of administrating regiments and ensuring that all is going smoothly, and I feel that a position such as ST CO will enable me to thrive best. An example of my effort I put into regiments would be Purge Battalion - I was a Private boosted straight to Commander of the regiment, and I like to believe I demonstrated my capacity to adapt and make something of any regiment I receive, despite the fact that Purge Battalion was a bit above my paygrade in my eyes as I had no prior experience with a regiment like that. This is why I feel that my words aren't hollow, and I can back up what I have written here with actions I've already done. I am well aware that if I receive this role, Purge Battalion is to be disbanded, and I am okay with this as I firmly believe that the Stormtrooper Commander role suits me better than the role of Purge Commander ever could.

I've also had a few people mention that I should apply, so here I am. Do you understand that most events rely mainly on improvisation and mainly nothing goes to plan (ever)? Yes. A useful skill to have is to be able to make up an entire mission seconds before briefing begins, something I'm used to doing. How confident are you in providing briefings, debriefings, and in ensuring you're able to direct players throughout your events? Very confident. An event doesn't go to plan and Kanan Jarrus is crushed by an elevator. Players are laughing at you. What do you do? I ignore the laughter, and have the event character speak in hostile comms "That was a close one...", and play it off like he escaped through a hatch seconds before the elevator landed on him. I'll improvise from then on, entirely based on the map and the current mission. A user is bad mouthing your events. How do you react? I ignore him. He's the mods issue, not mine. If it's valid criticism, I'll briefly acknowledge it in OOC and act accordingly - however it's not something I need to focus on. You have to go AFK in the middle of an event you are running and there are no backups available. What should you have done to avoid this? I should've ensured that I had a free schedule before I booked the event. Players and a few staff members are complaining about the amount of lag they're dealing with during your event. How do you resolve this? I'll acknowledge it in OOC and ask in admin chat to assist in removing unnecessary props that may be causing lag, and slow the spawn of NPCs all the while. I'll then keep an eye out for props players are no longer roleplaying with, and keep it in mind for the duration of the event to ensure that it does not start lagging again. To conclude your app. you are required to create and design your own event. This includes planets, maps and stage actions. Include lots of detail in your event design. You are required to involve PassiveRP elements. Sand planet - Old warzone, no longer home to anything other than pirate gangs and scavengers. (betaworkshl2) Objective: There has been a crashed freighter housing some rather important cargo that one of the Empire's many allies has called in assistance for. The ally in question suspects mutiny, and as such demands that all personnel still alive in the crashed freighter are to be questioned and executed at the Empire's discretion, and for the crash site to be secured for pickup. The last communication between the one requesting assistance and the crewmembers, is that pirate gangs were converging on the crash site seemingly tipped off and eager to pillage it.   19. Completely forgot to edit this response, my apologies. Anyway. Your application is truthfully textbook in what we're looking for in a potential Trial Moderator. You carry yourself well, and I have never once had any reason to raise my eyebrow at you while you're in-game. I think you've a solid shot at staff. For now I'd recommend really putting yourself out there at the front of the pack as you do have a lot of other applicants to 'contend' with. Good luck! I applaud your effort to get feedback from existing staff in a proactive way. This should be commended.
  20. I would suggest taking these applications more seriously and honestly before thinking you have a shot at staff. I barely had to put effort in to reading and investigating you to see that this application was dishonest and full of what you think we want to hear. I cannot see you becoming a staff member ever with this attitude and approach.
  21. None on this server. Administrator and Medic Commander on another. Unfortunately Piano, accolades in other servers do not translate to this server. I would suggest taking part in this community more as a player before thinking about aiming for staff. This is the only criticism I believe you need currently as in my eyes you currently do not fit the bill for our team.
  22. Pac3 applications are to demonstrate ability with pac3, which I feel you've done to the word. Solid effort. Also good work on making people throw hissyfits about your final example I guess HAHA. Keep it in there, just to piss 'em off more (ya spastics) - but add a serious 4th example to balance it. -- and don't ever use it in-game or you'll be losing your kneecaps.
