Do you have any problems with any of our current staff members?
Are you willing to learn new ways to approach situations?
Do you have any active warns?
How will you becoming a moderator impact our community?
I've served in other communities as a Moderator, I've had my share of experiences from RDM cases to perma bans. Apart from that, I would do good for the server, not being an idiot and being able to play at different times which would allow me to conduct business as an Moderator at late times or early times.
Do you understand that as a member of the Staff Team, your position may be subject to change and / or termination should you not be performing to the degree stipulated? Do you also understand that a staff role is one that comes with the expectation of commiting time to helping the users of the server (Up to 20 hours a week)?
A user is RDMing and insulting other users. You are the only staff available to deal with the situation. What do you do?
Freeze the user before speaking with him. If it's disrupting an RP situation, I'd teleport him to an out of roleplay zone (Topside of the ship or at the back, or another area at an event out of harms way), speak with him. Check his warns and if he has an RDM warns, if he hasn't been warned, give him one and return him to the Map and allow him to continue playing. If he continues to RDM/Insulting others or has warns, I'd ban him for a scaling period (Say 3 warns, ban him for 3 weeks). On Trial, I assume I won't be allowed to ban for more then 2 weeks. In that case, if I was a Trial, I'd try to contact an Admin+, if none is available, ban him for the max duration and speak with the admin team regarding his ban later.
A user has contested a warn you have given him and proceeds to verbally abuse you, what do you do?
Lay it out flat for him, explain why he's being warned and try to calm him down. If he proceeds to continue verbally abusing me, I can take him to a sit and discuss it, perhaps getting another moderator/admin to deal with him if it calms him down. A Kick/Ban seems unwarranted here as he's just being verbal. If he continues staff disrespect, I'd look at kicking him or banning him for a few hours to calm down.
A user has threatened to DDos and take down the server. What do you do?
Warn the user and report it to an Admin+. If he continues either in Roleplay or OOC to threaten, kick him from the server and scale it up. Make a note of it.
A Commander and Lieutenant are arguing in front of debrief. It is getting quite heated. The context to the argument is unknown to you. What do you do?
Ask in Admin chat, get a hold on the situation and work with the other admins to settle the argument, if there are none. I'd tp them and speak with them, calm them down till they can be returned and finish Debrief. If one gets argumentative with myself, speak with him sternly and give him a Verbal warning before proceeding with anything else.
A Cadet has been complaining and wandering around because he hasn't been trained yet. He doesn't appear to have any intent to role play. What do you do?
Bring him back to the Recruit room, call for a SGT+ and speak to him. Get him to go through with training, if he refuses and continues to "minge" and refuse to roleplay, I'd give him a verbal warning before warning him and possibly kicking him from the server in the event that he is just straight minging. Scale it up if he comes back to minge, to a ban.
