How will you bring new and creative event ideas to the server?:
By bringing innovative ideas to the server I hope to give the community a wider perspective on Clone Wars events. By doing this I have some of my own ideas that I’d love to share with fellow event master staff and I think my knowledge could bring another view in for the team. Furthermore, I also understand that improvisation is a key aspect to becoming a great Event Master as not everything goes to plan sometimes and you must always be ready.
Have you participated in many of our Events?:
I have participated in many events on the clone wars server. I also played the Imperial server once it was released again. These events have also inspired me to apply to become an event master myself, because i feel i can learn a lot from the current event team.
Are you familiar with Gmod's wide range of NPC tools?:
I am very familiar with NPC tools in GMOD as I have over 3000+ hours and always play around in sandbox learning how to use the tools and mastering the craft of spawning NPC’s, no target etc.
Name 3 tools that are at an Event Masters disposal within events and leave a small comment detailing each of their uses:
NPC Notarget: Using NPC No Target allows you to spawn Aggressive NPC’s without them opening fire on you.
Hyperspace Tool: This Tool allows you to hyperspace props and entities it allows a more Roleplay Friendly way of spawning in a muni for example instead of spawning it in then physgunning it into place.
Advanced Duplicator: This tool allows you to preset events before hand, enabling you to plan them out easily. If any changes are needed then you are easily able to make them before prime time.
Are you aware of how much a Gmod server can take or how unstable Gmod truly is?:
I am completely aware how unstable Gmod is and how much of a beating the server can take, I am also aware that you must alter your events depending on the amount of players & how much the server is chugging, I also know the certain entities that cause a lot of lag and the ones that can work with a higher pop.
Do you understand that you are not allowed to abuse your ULX rank outside of events? Provide 3 examples detailing different situations that would be considered abuse:
Situation 1: Taking tickets such as ‘admin sits’ or ‘tool tickets’ while other staff members are on. As a EM my job is to entertain players with onship events and prime time events, not be a staff member unless absolutely needed.
Situation 2: Physgun abusing players in any situation unless they are impacting a event negatively.
Situation 3: Abuse of ULX, may it be using commands such as !jail or !ban it should never be used by a EM unless they are forced to take over for a staff member.
Do you have any event experience? e.g. played a key character in an event before:
I have had multiple experiences with event characters especially even in the past couple of days, I enjoy the roleplay aspect of playing as event characters and find myself fairly decent at it. My past experience adds up and makes me more confident playing as an event character. I have played as main event characters being VIP's also as droids such as, Battledroids, BX-1 and Commando droids.
On a scale of 1-10, how much lore knowledge do you have?:
10 as I have grown up watching The Clone Wars and enjoy reading about the industry of Star Wars which made me research and got me into Gateway Gaming which I’ve enjoyed every minute of.
On a scale of 1-10, how familiar are you with ulx commands?:
I’ve had prior experience as staff member on Clone Wars servers including server manager as my highest achievement. Over my experience I learnt how to use ULX properly.
Make a comment regarding the recent events on our server and how they have inspired you to become an event master:
I’ve really been inspired to become an EM ever since I’ve joined the server because the long time EM’s seem to go past expectations when it comes to simple stuff like getting in character or putting minor details in their events. An example of this is Andy’s events, no matter what he keeps a consistent story line through his events with new characters and non-recycled event ideas. It really helps keep players refreshed.
Do you understand that most events rely mainly on improvisation and mainly nothing goes to plan (ever)?:
I completely understand that events never go to plan. I am also ready to adapt and improvise to plan failure and quickly jump in to fix and problems that come up in my event asking for help if need be.
How confident are you in providing briefings, debriefings, and in ensuring you're able to direct players throughout your events?:
I am fairly confident with directing and giving speeches during, before and after the event, I like to write myself a pre-written script before the events I do, so I found it fairly easy to conduct myself during the events and lead people without struggle.
1. An event doesn't go to plan and General Grievous is crushed by an elevator. Players are laughing at you. What do you do?
Keep calm because the event will still need to go on, I would begin to improvise and keep players occupied with new RP and continue my event plan by slightly changing up what was previously going to happen, I would also not let the players get to me, so i can keep the player base entertained even if it means improvising on the spot.
2. A user is bad mouthing your events. How do you react?
I would talk to the player personally and ask what they didn’t enjoy about my event, I would take all feedback into consideration and try to best improve my events to suit the playerbase better and make it more enjoyable for everyone.
3. You have to go AFK in the middle of an event you are running and there are no backups available. What should you have done to avoid this?
There is ONE main thing that I should have done before my event and that is to check my IRL schedule to see if I will have the time to complete the event fully.
4. Players and a few staff members are complaining about the amount of lag they're dealing with during your event. How do you resolve this?
I would begin to limit the amount of NPC’s that i was spawning in, and start to only do area spawning to limit the lag a even more, I would also make sure that decals and ragdolls are cleared, and begin to also look for any unnecessary props that have been spawned in and could have been possibly creating lag and then remove them.
To conclude your app. you are required to create and design your own event. This includes planets, maps and stage actions. Include lots of detail in your event design. You are required to involve PassiveRP elements.
