How will you becoming a moderator make an impact on the community?
I am very active and always willing to help, plus I have a very large amount of experience in moderation as I am an ex-head admin of a decently well known server (Collosal Gaming) meaning that I already have a vast amount of knowlege in how to properly deal with a wide variety of situations without bias, which will allow me to help as many people as I can more efficiently which I believe will have a positive impact on the server.
Do you believe you're able to deal with individuals and situations in a completely unbiased manner?
Do you use our Teamspeak server often?
Yes, I try to be on every day
Do you understand that as a member of the Staff Team, your position may be subject to change and / or termination should you not be performing to the degree stipulated?
1. A user is RDMing and insulting other users. You are the only staff available to deal with the situation. What do you do?
I would use !administrate and fly under the map (or to another hidden part of the map out of the way of other players) and !jailtp [name] the offender and explain to him/her why he has been brought here, I would then expalain to him/her why RDMing and insulting others isnt acceptable on the server, after hearing his respone and reasoning I would check previous logs of his actions recorded by staff members, depending on his previous record and the amount of people he has RDM'd along with the severity of the insults I would either warn them with !warn (or a different warning command if the server uses a different warn system) if it was a first time thing/it wasnt Mass RDM or if they havent acted up in a long time, however if it was a case of Mass RDM or this person was a repeat offender it would result in them getting a ban.
2. A user has contested a warn you have given him and proceeds to verbally abuse you, what do you do?
I would let him know that verbal abuse wont get him anywhere and that it may result in another warning, and as for the conest of the warning I would let him know that I am going to consult another staff member (preferably someone more senior than me) and take into account what they say and take action on it, either clearing the warn if the other staff member (more senior than me) sees it to be the right thing to do, however the warn would stay if they believe it to be a fair warning. If the player is still angry and verbally abusive I would see if I could calm him down and try have him talk to another staff member to see if theat would de-escalate the situatiom, however if the player continues to verbally abuse me/the other staff member after the warning and attemp at calming down I would kick him with !kick [name] him for verbal abuse towards staff.
3. A user has threatened to DDos and take down the server. What do you do?
If it is a legitimate threat I would alert management or senior staff such as Head Admin or Server Manager, and if I cant get a hold of eiteher I would attempt to get in touch with a senior admin immediatly, then I would bring the player and try to find out information while gathering evidence through screen recording or screenshots, as well as keeping him talking in an attempt to stall him (as he may actually be capable of a DDOS), while management/and or other senior staff decide what is to be done about the situation, however if the player is not willing to talk and insists he is going to DDOS the server I would ban the player on the spot using !ban [name] with the reason DDOS threat and then alert management.
4. A Commander and Lieutenant are arguing in front of debrief. It is getting quite heated. The context to the argument is unknown to you. What do you do?
I would listen into the argument to get an understanding of what its about, if its part of/about debrief or the event it isnt up to staff to handle it as its an rp situation. However its an out of character arugument I would pm them quickly telling them to knock it off as this isnt the time or place to argue about out of character issues and then have a chat to them after debrief is over and give them a verbal warning about how that isnt on and that people might think that its ok as they're high ranking players of the server and should be setting an example as many lower ranking or new players look up to people of a higher rank, such as Lieutenant and Commander.
5. A Cadet has been complaining and wandering around because he hasn't been trained yet. He doesn't appear to have any intent to role play. What do you do?
I would apologise that nobody has come to train him yet but also let him know that he shouldnt be running around the base as a cadet as he needs to be trained first, I would then direct him back to the training area and call for a Sergeant+ to come and train him, if none are aavailable i would just train him myself, However if he continues to show signs of not having any intent to role play I would first give him a verbal warning telling him that he cant continue acting the way he is if he wants to actually play on the server, and if he continues to mess around and minge and not wanting to rp I would ban him for an hour using !ban [name] with the description "No intent to RP" as generally if they have no intent to rp they wont bother to come back at all unless they actually want to play on the server.
