Steam Name: JustSudo
Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:63093333
In game alias: RC-1001 CPT 'Climber'
Time Played: Currently states that I have 31 Hours, even though I have played since January - I have been informed it may be due to Account Name Changes but I honestly can't remember my previous aliases due to "clearing" them a couple months ago.
How will you bring new and creative event ideas to the server?:
An issue which I believe many servers always encounter is consistently doing the same styled events which usually causes the downfall of a server. Aspects which I believe have to be looked into more is the passiveRP and general preparation of an event, as an example; Before/after a mission briefing specific regiments will have to complete roleplay this will enable an event to be longer and ultimately making some regiments which are usually either kept away from the fighting or who are disadvantaged more engaged and feel like they are contributing more to the servers enjoyment.
Have you participated in many of our Events?:
Throughout my time on Gateway, I have had endless amounts of experience throughout the held events but in my recent times, I have decided to stay back and ultimately watch the event play-out and take personal notes to see how Gateway's community react in specific situations.
Are you familiar with Gmod's wide range of NPC tools?:
Yes, I would personally say that I am extremely well at using the NPC tool's which Gmod offers but I still believe a little practice and re-teaching myself wouldn't hurt.
Name 3 tools that are at an Event Masters disposal within events and leave a small comment detailing each of their uses: NPC No-Target: When dealing with NPCs, it is always important to activate "No-Target" to ensure that the Event Master running the event does not aggravate the enemies. Teleporters: Setting up teleporters allows the community players to reach a location without missing the event. NPC Creator: The ability to spawn in friendly & aggressive NPCs.
Are you aware of how much a Gmod server can take or how unstable Gmod truly is?
Having previous experience with server managements, ownership and being an event master I am extremely aware of the limitations and how unstable Garry's Mod can get when reaching a large player count which means that I will have to adapt my events/plans to ensure the server does not crash.
Do you understand that you are not allowed to abuse your ULX rank outside of events? Provide 3 examples detailing different situations that would be considered abuse:
Self-supplying myself/others with weapons without proper reasoning.
Phsy-gunning community players without proper reasons.
Noclipping whilst off-duty/not running an event.
Do you have any event experience? e.g. played a key character in an event before:
I do not have any "key event experience" on Gateway but throughout my time at servers such as Imperial Gaming, I had the chance to be an Event Master.
On a scale of 1-10, how much lore knowledge do you have?:
On a scale of 1-10, how familiar are you with ulx commands?:
Make a comment regarding the recent events on our server and how they have inspired you to become an event master:
On the 3/12/2019, I had a incredible interaction with the Head Event-Master (Director Conners - at the time) and ultimately gave me the feeling of having a safe place or as some like to explain it; a second home which in my opinion is what I would also like to strive to achieve.
Do you understand that most events rely mainly on improvisation and mainly nothing goes to plan (ever)?:
Yes, I am extremely aware that improvisation is keys to an events success and I ultimately believe that throughout my previous staffing experiences I have built up an extreme ability to think about new aspects/re-think an event plan to ensure it doesn't die off.
How confident are you in providing briefings, debriefings, and in ensuring you're able to direct players throughout your events?:
I personally really enjoy public speaking as it is essential to all server events which will occur.
1. An event doesn't go to plan and General Grievous is crushed by an elevator. Players are laughing at you. What do you do?
I believe that the best way to recover from a incident like this is to allow General Grievous to re-spawn to allow him to continue fighting and pretend that he never died.
2. A user is bad mouthing your events. How do you react?
If a community member is "hating" upon one of my events, I would simply ask them to evaluate and explain how I could do it better next time.
3. You have to go AFK in the middle of an event you are running and there are no backups available. What should you have done to avoid this?
To avoid this, I should have planner previously to have all other tasks complete to ensure that when I am running an event I do not have to leave mid-way. I would also ask for another Event Master to be present so if a situation did occur he could take over and finish it so the community isn't left with nothing to do.
4. Players and a few staff members are complaining about the amount of lag they're dealing with during your event. How do you resolve this?
This is simple, reducing entities that are being used such as NPCs, Ships, Textscreens and Teleporters usually will fix any lag issues. If this does not fix it - The best chance to keep everyone happy is to quickly and efficiently wrap up the event without making it seem rushed.
To conclude your app. you are required to create and design your own event.
