How known are you on a scale of 1-10 (10 being everyone knows you):
I think I would currently be around a 5-6
How will you becoming a moderator impact on the community?
If I am going, to be honest. When I first started the server I wasn't really looking for a place to stay but rather a place to mess around/minge on. After playing for a couple hours I got into gateway and am now currently a trainee for ARC and a MSG in 7th Ghost company. Since first starting and wanting to minge to really enjoying the server and wanting to play on it as much as I can because all the great staff help that I have received has pushed me in this direction. As I was pushed in this direction by the current staff I would like to apply the same push to other players hopefully creating a space for them to want to come and play just like I want to. I think that if I became a moderator I could help all of the players on the server, and if not all as many as I can.
Do you use our Teamspeak server often?
Yes. Every time I play on the server you would find me in the Teamspeak
1. A user is RDMing and Insulting other users. You are the only staff available to deal with the situation. What do you do?
I would !bring (user) so I could talk to him/her and see what's happening. I would then verbally warn them as the situation might not seem as bad as it did at first. If the user did not listen to me and kept going at it I would give !warn (user) for RDM as their actions may affect the other users in the community. If they continue to RDM and insult after their warns I would !kick (user) from the server for the reason “Fail RP / RDM”. If that player persists in being a menace I would then !ban (user)(time)(“Fail RP / RDM / Appeal on the forums”)
2. A group of users have confronted you and explain how another user was breaking some server rules earlier (RDMing and Climb Swep abusing). The users threaten that they want immediate action otherwise they will leave the server. What do you do?
I would check logs to see if he indeed RDM another player. I would !bring (user2) and ask him why he's RDMing and Climb swep abusing. If he did I would give him a verbal warning as I was not there and don't know the whole story. I would tell User2 that next time will result in a warn and then a kick. I would !goto (user1) and tell him that the situation has been dealt with. I would then tell him if he has any more issues with the user that he should contact a member of the staff team as soon as he could.
3. A user has threatened to Ddos and take down the server. What do you do?
I would !goto (user) and see what is up with them and try to calm them down. If they are being toxic about it and trying to cause trouble for the server I would !ban (user) as a DDOS would affect the whole community and cause players to not want to play. I would then contact a higher staff member telling them what has happened in case more actions need to be taken.
4. A Commander and Lieutenant are arguing in front of debrief. It is getting quite heated. The context to the argument is unknown to you. What do you do?
I would !bring (user1) and (user2) and tell them to calm down and take turns in telling me what is happening. If the matter is RP related I would proceed to tell them to calm down a little bit and tell me when they are ready to be returned. If the situation was not RP and was really some issue going on between the Commander and Lieutenant I would try and mediate the conversation. If needed I may verbally warn them as they should not be having a heated argument outside of DB and ingame as it can have an effect on other users in the community.
5. A CR has been complaining and wondering around because he hasn't been trained yet. He seems like a minge to you and you're not sure if he is really here to play. What do you do?
He may seem like a minge at first but we would never know unless someone trained him. Most cadets if they aren't trained like to just roam the ship seeking attention for someone to train them. Like me, he may end up staying and joining the community.
I would !bring (user) to the cadet room and then take the time to train him myself as I have passed the rank of Sergeant and can train him. During training as all trainers should do, I would go over the rules and tell him the consequences if he broke them.
